INTRODUCTION

Gender equality is the belief that all people, regardless of gender, should have the same rights, opportunities, and resources. Gender equality is a fundamental human right necessary for social, economic, and political advancement.

Feminism: An Introduction

Feminism is a movement that pushes for gender equality on social, political, and economic levels. It aims to confront and demolish patriarchal structures that have historically oppressed women and non-binary people. The feminist movement may be traced back to the late 18th century, when during the French Revolution, women began to seek equal rights and representation. The movement, however, has changed and grown over time, with numerous branches and interpretations.

It is important to note that using feminist terminology or movements for personal or vested purposes, such as Amber Heard and her assault charges against Johnny Depp, can be damaging and weaken the cause of gender equality. It is vital to ensure that oppressed groups' thoughts and experiences are acknowledged, and that particular aims do not eclipse the larger goal of equality for all.

Feminists - Do we support them or not?

The hashtag #killallmen and similar sentiments are not only harmful and violent, but they also fundamentally misunderstand the principles and goals of feminism. Feminism is about the equality of all genders, not promoting the superiority of one gender over the others. The idea of "female superiority" is not only factually incorrect, but it also undermines the feminist movement and the progress that has been made toward equality.

Equal rights for women only? What about the others?
